Bringing Alcohol to the 2025 Belmont Stakes at Saratoga: What You Need to Know

The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival 2025 is coming to Saratoga Race Course this June, and with it comes a shift in the usual track day experience—especially when it comes to bringing alcoholic beverages. While the historic Saratoga track has traditionally allowed guests to bring in beer and wine, things will be a bit different during the Belmont. Understanding the alcohol policy at Saratoga during the Belmont Stakes will help ensure you’re race-day ready.

On Wednesday, June 4, and Sunday, June 8, outside alcohol will be allowed, provided it is not in glass containers. However, from Thursday, June 5, through Saturday, June 7—including Belmont Stakes Day on June 7—bringing in your own alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited. This policy aligns with Belmont Park's standard restrictions, which are being adopted during this special relocation of the third leg of the Triple Crown to Saratoga Springs.

Guests may still bring coolers (no larger than 12” x 18”) on all days of the festival, limited to one per person. These coolers can contain food and non-alcoholic drinks, and are subject to search by NYRA security. If you're planning your visit, it’s important to double-check these cooler rules at the Saratoga racetrack to avoid any surprises at the gate.
